The Course is closed until 2015
We look forward to seeing you all in the spring!
Red Carpet Golf Course opened for play in the Summer of 1920. It's opening symbolized the arrival of modern-era golf in the Waterloo area. Tom Bendelow, a well respected course designer in his era, was hired to lay out this fine facility. Bendelow's work speaks for itself, as he also has designed such renowned courses as Medinah Country Club, Olympia Fields, and Hyperion Field Club in Johnston, Iowa.
The tradition of fine golf at Red Carpet has been enriched throughout the years with a number of well known players. Walter Hagen, winner of 11 professional Majors, made his second appearance at the course in 1933. In that same year, reigning U.S. and British Open champion Gene Sarazen made a stop to play the course.
We now invite you to enjoy this historic facility. We are located only one mile east of US Highway 63 on Newell Street in Waterloo, Iowa.
